Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol)
This is the form of vitamin D that the body produces when exposed to sunlight. It is considered the most effective for absorption.
What is it for?
- Calcium absorption. Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium from the intestine. Without it, even a sufficient amount of calcium in the diet does not guarantee bone strength.
- Bone health. Together with calcium, vitamin D3 promotes bone mineralization, preventing the development of osteoporosis and rickets.
- Immunity. Vitamin D3 helps the body fight infections. Studies show that its deficiency may increase the risk of respiratory diseases.
- Muscle function. It also affects muscle strength, which is especially important for the elderly, as it helps prevent falls.
Vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7 (MK-7))
This is a form of vitamin K that effectively transports calcium to its intended destination. The supplement contains menaquinone-7 (MK-7), which has high bioavailability and a long period of action.
What is it for?
- Directs calcium to the bones. The main function of vitamin K2 is to activate proteins that help calcium integrate into bone tissue. This prevents it from being deposited in soft tissues, including the walls of arteries.
